The excitement is set for November 4, 2012 at Freeman Park in Bartlett, TN.  Join us for a 5K run/1mile Family Fun Walk.  The 5K race will begin promptly at 2:00 P.M. followed by the 1 mile Family Fun Walk shortly thereafter. There will be entertainment, fun and prizes for children of all ages, so be sure to get there early.  This is a Memphis Runner's Club sanctioned event and medals will be given to the top three runners in each age group as well as overall winners. Early mail-in, online or school turn-in registration is $20.00 until October 17,2012. After that the registration is $25.00.  Mail In Registrations should be mailed by no later than 10/25/12.  On-line registration ends 11/1/12.  Walk-up Registration is $25.00 the day of the race.
The "Race for Education" was started in 2001 by a group of parents who wanted to help raise much needed funds for programs, such as art music and physical education, that were scheduled to be cut to balance the school's budget. Thanks to the generous donations of our sponsors, every penny from the proceeds, goes directly back to the classroom.  In fact, one half of the net proceeds go to district wide distribution and the other half to the  Shelby County school that you designate or district-wide distribution. Each school will decide with the help of principals, parents and teachers, how to best spend the funds they receive from the proceeds of the race. We are celebrating our 12th anniversary race this year....come join the festivities!
